Matcha green tea blueberry smoothie bowlI had this for breakfast this morning and it was a good start to the day. This is a simple breakfast smoothie bowl made with the goodness of Matcha green tea powder and blueberries. I have previously discussed the potential health benefits of Matcha, which is exceptionally high in the polyphenol epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), and of blueberries. As well as being rich in antioxidants, the whey powder and cottage cheese provide protein and the coconut and walnuts sprinkled on top provide essential fatty acids. Therefore, this smoothie bowl can be considered a complete and nutritious breakfast that tastes good too.

Matcha green tea and blueberry smoothie bowl

Ingredients

½ cup coconut milk

2 trays ice cubes

3 blocks frozen spinach

2 tablespoons Match green tea powder

¼ cup frozen blueberries

30 grams of a good quality vanilla flavour whey protein powder

½ teaspoon cinnamon

2 tablespoons cottage cheese

2 tablespoons desiccated coconut

10 walnuts

Utensils

High-speed blender

Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  • Place all ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend until a smooth, even consistency is achieved. Pour into a bowl and sprinkle coconut, walnuts and cinnamon on top. Eat with a spoon and feel good for the day.
